I am creating a mobile app for a local sandwich shop based in Honolulu to attract locals and tourists alike and retain customers in the online system. I have noticed a trend with customers using more mobile apps that allow a scheduled time to pick-up food to minimize time spent retrieving food. I want to create an app to compete with the online market, retain customers, improve sales, and have customer satisfaction.
Persona: Dani
Dani is a busy working adult who needs order food hassle free because they want to enjoy the time they have to themselves.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
First Iterations:
The first designs were quickly put down digitally to get ideas flowing. Once my first iterations were put down I started my low-fidelity prototype using figma.
Usability study: findings
With the low-fidelity prototype I conducted an unmoderated usability study among five different users.
Users want to see full menu.
Users want clear iconography to navigate quicker visually.
Users became overwhelmed by amount of information on screen.
ROUND ONE FINDINGS
Users wanted to view past orders not just βreorderβ functionality.
Users did not like using drop down menus when selecting their pick-up time.
ROUND TWO FINDINGS
Mockups:
With the feedback of two different studies, I created a mockup for present the final look of the app.
High-fidelity Prototype:
Once feedback was received from the test group, a high-fidelity prototype was created with the user journey.

Conclusion
IMPACT
While designing Galarioβs Sandwiches app, I learned that less is more. There were places where users were overwhelmed by either content or wording. Usability studies and user feedback helped influence the apps design.
WHAT I LEARNED
The app makes it easy for users order food quickly and hassle free so users can enjoy their day more.
